Custom Songs

I created six 30-45 second songs for an educational app for ages 9-14 called ZINES built by parent company PRIMER. Here are three that stand out, all in different styles:

Producing, Mixing & Mastering

 Video Creation & Editing

Billie Marie - Promotional Video

Interviewing, filming, and editing a promotional video for Luke Taylor, owner of Billie Marie, a small-batch leather goods boutique.

All My Heart - You Know Me Better (Official Video)

On this project I pieced together a bunch of footage I gathered from my years in San Francisco and collaborated with my friend Aaron Cantleberry (Gopro) to create this lyric video. I edited the footage and Cantleberry created the kinetic text.

Everything About this Feels Temporary - Music Video

I started recording “Everything About This Feels Temporary “ in my mobile recording studio in early Fall of 2017. My goal was to release the song as a music video on New Year’s Eve, which meant communication and timing around mixing, mastering, video production, editing, and the marketing campaign had to be perfect.

Once we received the final mix and master from our engineers in Cleveland, Ohio, we could begin video production. I had a loose idea for a music video, so I reached out to my videographer, Aaron Cantleberry (GoPro). We did our first day of shooting in late November, 2017 during sunset at a beach in Pacifica, Ca. We had very little time to get everything right. The waves were a little too intense and we didn’t get the shots we needed that day. We considered piecing together what we had but decided to go back a week later to capture more footage. We got what we needed that night and immediately went to editing. We finished just in time and successfully ran an email and ad campaign on the last day of the year and the first two weeks of 2018.

WEb Design

I’m adding web design to my portfolio to demonstrate competency in multiple creative disciplines. As a DIY indie musician I jumped onboard the Squarespace web design train for a few reasons. For starters, it’s incredibly intuitive for those who want to put the time in. I add that last caveat because I noticed my ability to secure contracts with clients was often helped by my ability to offer copywriting and web design expertise. Other than my own, here are two websites I worked on. The first I only gave a face-lift, and the second I built from scratch:

Jeffnesbit.net

Nassaustreetbooks.com (Password: nassaustreet)*

*The Nassau Street Books site was built from the ground up (currently waiting on client to add final copy). The Books section took a considerable amount of thought with the time and budget constraints. I used code from a third party Squarespace business to generate the tabs on the page so each genre could be easily accessible. This took a considerable amount of research and experimentation, but the end result was worth it.
