Is your arm too short to save?

Hey friends,

Today as I release the song β€œIs Your Arm Too Short To Save,” I think about all the challenges and hardships you might be facing. I don't know about you, but since my early twenties I've lost friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other loved ones. I've seen cancer be ruthless. I've walked with friends through messy divorces. I've seen lawsuits between brothers, families struggling through infertility, and extreme financial hardship. I've seen politics tear families and friends apart. I've had many prayers go unanswered. Perhaps you have too.

I've misplaced my hope several times as I've traversed my own challenges these last ten years. It's hard not to when you start to wonder if help was ever on the way. I've suffered long seasons of anxiety, and I've succumbed to deep, dark depression. Maybe you have too.

I don't have an answer for it all, but I do hope these words help you express the difficulty you're walking through. Most of this song is a complaint. If there's one thing I've learned in my suffering, it's that there's no use holding back when I pray. If you pray, maybe this will be a good starting point.

There is a moment of brief and faint praise at the end. If you're not ready to go there, you can pause the song at that point and just sit there for a while. That's ok. I hope you get some answers soon, and until you do, may this serve as a way to connect with the one who I believe will make all things new some day.

I'd love to hear from you.

Kevin

I heard you raised the dead, and you wept for your friends

So won't you weep for me? Cause I feel like I've seen a death.
